Mary Weeks, Executive Director

Mary joined Walk-In in 2010 with a broad base of experience gained during a 40-year career in social services, college teaching and nonprofit leadership. Mary received her MSW degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Prior to joining Walk-In Counseling Center, she had served as executive director of Crisis Connection and YouthLink, both located in the Twin Cities.

Jim Ayers, Clinic Director

Jim Ayers has been responsible for Walk-In’s clinic services since 1988. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. degree in philosophy from St. Paul Seminary. A licensed psychologist, Jim specializes in adult assessment, intervention, relationship therapies and the assessment and treatment of elderly sex offenders. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota.

Gary Schoener, Director of Consultation & Training

Gary is one of the founders of Walk-In, and served as executive director from 1973 to 2010. A licensed psychologist, Gary is well known for his expertise on professional misconduct, and is an internationally known expert on ethics and professional boundaries. He is regularly called on as an advisor, speaker and trainer.  Gary directs Walk-In's Consultation & Training Institute, and maintains a private practice in forensic psychology.

Tracie Huhn, Director of Development & Communications

Tracie joined the Walk-In in 2011. She has 14 years of experience in program management, direct service, project management, communications and fundraising. Tracie earned a B.A. in psychology and women's studies from Arizona State University, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.  She is responsible for planning and implementing Walk-In's fundraising, engagement and communications strategies.

Pang Chang, Database & Administrative Manager

Pang joined Walk-In Counseling Center in 2006. She earned her BSW from the College of St. Catherine. Pang is often the first person clients meet when they come to our clinic. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Walk-In Counseling Center, client reception, client database management and training, and assists with community outreach and volunteer coordination.

Rita Sandidge, Interim Volunteer Coordinator

Rita joined Walk-In Counseling Center in 2006 as a volunteer receptionist and counselor, and in 2008 she joined the staff team.  She is responsible for scheduling, training and coordinating our many volunteers, as well as providing assistance with donor services and administrative functions. Rita has an MA in Counseling Psychology and is a PhD student at the University of Minnesota.
