Walk-In
Counseling Center (WICC)
WICC
provides a variety of services which address unmet mental health needs.
These include providing crisis intervention and short-term counseling
to people who do not have access to other services. These are provided
without fee. WICC also provides consultation to individuals and
organizations on a variety of service issues. Finally, it provides training
locally and nationally on a number of issues. WICC is a non-profit organization
under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
Counseling
Services
WICC provides crisis intervention and short-term
counseling to individuals, couples and families. No appointment is necessary
during counseling hours. For more details and a map see the counseling
page. These services are free but donations are appreciated. If

Consultation
& Training Services
WICC is an internationally recognized leader
in providing consultation and training related to helping both professionals
and consumers deal with service issues in mental health and related areas.
Consultation services include
assisting professionals and clients in solving service problems including
complaints of professional misconduct. Training
services include workshops and inservices, locally and
nationally, on topics such as handling crisis situations, Ethics, Impairment
in Professionals, Sexual Misconduct, Risk Management, Client/Therapist
Boundaries, Ethical-Legal Dilemmas, and Clinical Supervision.

WICC has gathered information to help individuals decide if they may benefit
from seeking counseling. WICC also provides information on other
Twin Cities resources for individuals seeking assistance as well as providing
links to a variety of on-line resources.
