There’s a rumor out there that we need to set straight - Gary Schoener did not retire!
Although he left his post as Executive Director in 2010, he is still very much a part of the organization he helped create. Only now he gets to focus on his favorite activity as Walk-In’s Director of Consultation and Training, and head of the Consultation & Training Institute.
The Institute offers: professional training on ethics, boundaries, and professional wellness; clinical consultation for organizations without internal staffing; professional consultation for individuals and groups about challenging practice issues; and assessment and coaching of professionals regarding their misconduct.
Gary is an internationally known author, speaker and trainer. Throughout his career he has been exceptionally generous in sharing his knowledge, expertise and perspective with other professionals. The Institute allows him to focus his time and efforts to improve the work of mental health and other helping practitioners. New marketing strategies will enable the Institute to become a valuable source of earned income for Walk-In.
